Hello. I Have A Visible, Hard Lump On The Left

Question: Hello. I have a visible, hard lump on the left side of my neck. It is about 2 cm in size. I've had it for a couple of months, but did not have it prior. I have another lump under my jaw area. I think they might be lymph nodes. I am concerned about them and wonder what I should do about it. Should it be biopsied?

Brief Answer:
Possibly biopsy or FNAC is required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.

2 lumps in neck, at least one of size 2 cm is suspicious. Small, soft XXXXXXX nodes upto 1 cm size are considered normal. But considering 2 cm size and hard consistency, I would suggest an ultrasound of the neck first.

Ultrasound can delineate exact size and characteristics (benign or not). If small and normal ultrasound features then we can wait, otherwise needs fine needle aspiration (FNAC) or biopsy.

Hope this helps.
Regards
