Hello! I Have Been Experiencing A Weird Head Feeling For
Question: Hello! I have been experiencing a weird head feeling for the last 6 weeks. It feels like a tingling/numbness in forehead and is almost always there. It doesn’t affect my thinking, vision, balance, or sleep, it’s just a physical feeling and an annoyance (it is not painful in any way). I had a similar feeling about 3 years ago and it seemed to go away after about a month but this time it’s a bit worse. Some things I think could have caused it but I’m not sure, so I wanted to check with a specialist before I go and spend a lot of money on tests that might not be necessary if it’s not a huge concern.
For starters, I’m a 31-year-old female in great health. I’ve had blood work done recently and nothing is out of the ordinary. I do not have blood pressure problems, it has always been in the normal range.
The only thing I could think of that could be causing this is either allergies, too much caffeine, or something neurological. Between the beginning of May and end of July, I was drinking an enormous amount of caffeine (probably close to 400 or 500mg) and in mid-July I decreased my caffeine intake to 1 cup per day and as of today, have totally given up caffeine. I also take allergy medication daily and it doesn’t seem to help either.
My main question is whether or not this seems like a concern or something random that will go away on its own. Thank you for your help!

Hello and welcome in Ask the Doctor
I can understand your concern
In your prescription you have not mentioned if you already have taken painkillers. If not start with more usual of them paracetamol or Ibrufen. If it is a tension headache it will pass after some days of using them.
Another cause might be sinusitis for which a sinuses X ray is needed. If the result is positive than you should be seen by an ENT specialist.
It might also be from eye problems and an ophthalmologist is needed too.
Nevertheless try painkillers first because in my opinion this seems not a very concerned pain. Please just follow the above instructions.
