Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for the query. I can understand your concern. According to your statement, you have done some blood tests and the report has shown that your serum bilirubin level is 2.5 mg/dL which is above normal (0-1.2).

Classic definition of jaundice is bilirubin level is greater than 2.5-3 mg/dL with yellowish discolouration of skin and sclera. Higher than normal bilirubin may indicate that your liver can't clean bilirubin properly. This may result from liver diseases, gall bladder diseases, a genetic mild disease called Gilbert's syndrome.

In case of Gilbert's syndrome, bilirubin will be above normal and other liver function test results will become normal. So, I think, you may suffer from Gilbert's syndrome which usually does not need any medical treatment. You can also undergo some investigations like ultrasound or CT abdomen, endoscopy etc to exclude the other causes.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
