Hello, I Have Had Chron's Disease For Almost 20 Years.

Question: Hello, I have had Chron's disease for almost 20 years. I was on Humira for 8.5 months. I have been off since May 2018. For the last 3 months I have experienced abdominal pain, above the bowels and when I eat, I get sick and throw up. Also, sometimes just smelling food will make me start gagging. In May, I had an abdominal CT to make sure my bowels hadn't ruptured - during that test they discovered a 4.2cm mass on my left kidney.
I've been told a needle biopsy is the most definitive test to determine if this is cancerous or a cyst. WHat are your thoughts on this mess??
Last BUT NOT LEAST, I'm planning to try Remicade within the next month, but I AM SCARED

Hi there,

It sounds like your kidney cyst is an incidental finding on the CT scan. An MRI scan is better to determine the status of your bowels, including stenoses.

Remicade may be an option if you have any inflammatory activity, as determined by faecal calprotectin and CRP levels.
