Hello, I Have Several Questions About The Novel Covid 19

Question: Hello, I have several questions about the novel covid 19 virus that seem to not be addressed. It seems that any and everything negative or deadly is known immediately and is an absolute, but anything hopeful or possibly a positive, gets shot down , or deleted or simply not even asked , for instance, about hydrchloroquine. Since the drug is currently being taken by millions of people for RA or lupus has there been any studies of these people? Have any of them been diagnosed with covid? I know someone from XXXXXXX who says that they take it over there and that it is sold over the counter, so why is it considered so dangerous in the U.S.? Also, are any blood types more susceptible to the virus? And how many people have gotten the virus who DID NOT get a flu shot?

Brief Answer:
see details below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
1. A retrospective study in Hubei China showed that patients with rheumatic disease who were taking hydroxychloroquine had a lower risk of COVID-19 infection than patients taking other disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drug.
2. Of course there have been people treated with hydroxychloroquine for RA infected by covid.
3. Hydroxychloroquine is not sold over the counter but is sold as preventive medication for malaria only recommended by doctors. I dont believe that it is sold over the counter in XXXXXXX
4. It is dangerous and not recommended to be used in covid 19 outside hospital or without doctor's recommendations because it can cause heart rhythm issues and infarction . It is useless to be used in mild and moderate disease . It can be beneficial only if used in severe cases.
5. Blood types which are more likely to test positive are B and AB.
6. There is not yet a certain study about flu vaccine and covid.
It is thought that flu vaccine increases protection to covid avoiding covid to be misdiagnosed with influenc.
