Hello! I Recently Had A Facial At A High End

Question: Hello! I recently had a facial at a high end spa (not a medical spa) where a salicylic acid was used to cleanse and exfoliate the skin. I believe it was left on the skin for approx. 1 - 2 min and then rinsed off. The smell was very strong and felt like it burned my nose and throat. Since then I have had a sore throat and my nose feels like it is burning. This morning I woke up and feel not well and light headed. I have been also recovering from a concussion and am now worried that with having the facial I somehow had a reaction and possibly made my concussion symptoms worse as I breathed in the fumes of the salicylic acid? I asked the lady at the spa and she said I didn't need to worry. It was strong but not like they would use at a medical spa. Has breathing the vapor temporarily caused damage to my sinus or my existing head injury. I feel so worried.

Wanted to also mention that my forehead and eyes have been bothering me as well. I am feeling quite loopy. Don't know if its a bit of tension, but have not felt like this previously.
The lady at the spa also mentioned to me it was a mixture of products and all were organic, but it was primarily the strong odor of the acid that really got to me. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
No direct effects on head injuries....
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
May I ask when did you suffer from head injury and how long ago were you exposed to the smell?
I would also like to know if you had scans of head and brain after the injury?
Do you still have a sore throat or a runny nose?
Do you have headaches and fever?
I can understand the smell may have been strong enough to irritate your nostrils leading to congestion and sore throat. But I can assure you this is unlikely to worsen the head injury or make the concussion bad.
I would like answers to my questions. It will allow me to guide you with the next steps of action.
Awaiting your response...
Regards

Hello! Thank you for your response. I suffered from my concussion Dec 13, 2016. I fell down the stairs at work. I hit the back of my head on the Left hand side and also had a hairline fracture. I also had 2 brain bleeds. I was exposed to the smell Monday October the 22nd, for approx. 1-2 min. I had several CT scans after my accident, but have not had any recently. At the moment I don't have a sore throat or a runny nose, but my sinuses seem to be bothering me slightly. I don't have a headache and don't appear to have a fever. My forehead and my vision seem to be making me feel a bit loopy though and I was concerned the strong smell may have damaged the sinuses around my eyes/forehead?Don't know what to think? Thank you for your time.

Tonight before going to bed I have a bit of a headache in my forehead and discomfort behind/in my eyes and it makes my vision feel a bit distorted. Thank you.

Woke this morning with a headache like feel in my forehead and discomfort behind my eyes. Vision seems off. Such a terrible feeling.
Brief Answer:
I think you will be alright....
Detailed Answer:
Hi Good Morning!!!
I understand you are concerned. Let me first reassure you. You should be alright.
The head injury was 2 years ago. That's a very long time ago. Any injuries sustained then would have healed by now, including the two bleeds. I am confident the smell will hardly have any impact on the two year old head injury. Your current symptoms are definitely not from worsening of concussion.
The current symptoms could be either be due to nasal / sinus irritation or an allergic reaction to the agent. These symptoms should slowly pass off. If it's troubling you, consider seeing a doctor nearby. In the meanwhile, you may start symptomatic medications - tylenol as well as zyrtec / benadryl.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you develop fresh symptoms.
Regards
