Hello! I Recently Had Outpatient Surgery Under General Anesthesia And

Question: Hello! I recently had outpatient surgery under general anesthesia and had an EKG done as part of the pre-op testing. I am attaching a copy of the EKG. I was told it was normal by the technician and my doctor when I had my appointment for pre surgery clearance. I just noticed now that it mentions possible left atrial enlargement...is this anything to worry about? I am also attaching a copy of an echocardiogram report which I had less than two years ago, in 2017. Thank you!
Brief Answer:
It's normal
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
There are no changes suggesting left atrial enlargement. Also, there are no other significant abnormalities seen in Ecg. The machine generated is frequently inaccurate so may be overlooked.
Also, Echo is not showing any LA enlargement. There is just mild aortic sclerosis which is a age related change.
So overall, there is nothing to worry about it.
Hope this helps you and get back if you have any doubts.

Oh Dr. Makode....thank you so very much for your reassuring answer!! I presumed everything was okay, as the technician and my doctor both said it was normal, and I presumed that any abnormalities during the monitoring for my nasal surgery would have been mentioned to me. I requested a copy of my full records from the hospital, as I had had a bad reaction to the anesthesia and I wanted to have that information for future reference. Well...I suffer from some health anxiety and lo and behold, when I was reading my records I saw that reference in the EKG report. I cannot thank you enough for clarifying and reassuring me on that!!
Brief Answer:
Okay
Detailed Answer:
Okay.. welcome..
And should obtain the details of reaction. There is nothing to worry from cardiac point of view in these.
All the best.
