Hello. I Recently Noticed I Was Irritated Around The Head

Question: Hello.
I recently noticed I was irritated around the head of my penis and was having the urge to urinate more often. Even after I urinated I was having the feeling like I need to urinate again.
This happened to me a little over a year ago and after a few days it went away. I went to a urologist who tested me and said I had no STDs but my white blood count was slightly elevated in my urine.
He wanted to do procedures like using a camera due to me having chlamydia 10+ years ago as a teen. He said it might have caused scar tissue. I chose not to and he said I may encounter problems again there’s no way to tell.
I have no discharge, sores, or anything out of the ordinary beside a little redness and irritation around my urethra hole.
I also was having pains on and off in my abdomen right above my pubic area. When I would try to pee sometimes I couldn’t pee or it would be limited amounts of pee. Also when masturbating I would all of a sudden feel like I need to pee and some pee would actually dribble out.
I had no pain when peeing or having sex. I am irritated often but I wouldn’t call it pains
I don’t think it’s an std as last time this happened I was tested. So I saw a doctor and was prescribed Macrobid. I was also Recommended for a urine test but I chose not to do it.
Today will be my second day taking Macrobid and I no longer have the urge to pee frequently and when I do pee I am able to maintain a steady stream MOST of the time.
Like I said I have noticed that my urge to pee has already disappeared as well as the feeling of having to pee when I masturbate.
Is the fact that it is improving after the first day a sign that it was a UTI or do you think I may possibly have an STD like herpes?

Brief Answer:
Sounds like a UTI
Detailed Answer:
Hi Tmusmc93,
This definitely sounds like a urinary tract infection. I would however recommend a cystoscopy (endoscopy of your urinary tract) if you experience the problem again, as it could also sound like a relative stenosis from scar tissue.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if you have further questions.
