Brief Answer:
Trigger thumb

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Welcome to Ask a doctor service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

A trigger thumb is a clinical diagnosis which is made on the basis of history, symptoms and clinical examination. There is severe pain and inflammation of flexor tendons.

An x ray or CT scan can't pick the changes.
A High resolution MRI can.You can go for it.

Hope that I have answered your query.
Regards.
