Brief Answer:
Both medications can cause drowsiness

Detailed Answer:
Hello, I'm Dr. Branch, thanks for using 'Ask a Doctor'. While not a lot is known about how passionflower interactions with medications, passionflower is known to cause drowsiness and sleepiness. This effect would likely be amplified with the use of zolpidem, and so for that reason I would be cautious about using them both together. Depending on the reason you are taking it, there may be a better option that wouldn't interact with zolpidem as much.

You could try both separately, and if they don't cause too much drowsiness, taking them together would probably be fine. But again, I would be cautious about using them together, and definitely would not take anything else that might add to the drowsiness (such as alcohol or other medications).

I hope that helps, please let me know if you have any other questions about that, and I would be glad to discuss it with you further.
