Hello, I Work At A Hotel And Was Handling Some
Question: Hello,
I work at a hotel and was handling some dollar bills when I noticed some suspicious red spots on one of them. I'm not sure if it was blood (photos attached) and I'm about 90% certain it had been sitting in the pile in the register for well over an hour. However, I can't recall with total certainty if I had been the one to handle the XXXXXXX directly from a customer. The skin on my hands are intact with exceptions of some dried out skin on my right thumb and a healed finger prick on my left middle finger that had occurred several hours earlier that day (about 10-12 hours prior give or take).
On the very small chance that the customer (who is of unknown status) is HIV positive and has a detectable viral load, does this sort of exchange pose any conceivable risk? There was no visible blood shed or spilled on my hands whatsoever and I immediately washed them/put Purell on after noticing the spots on the XXXXXXX Furthermore, when I wiped down the XXXXXXX with Lysol disinfectant wipes (this time with gloves on) the spots turned nearly pink. Does bleach have that effect on blood?
Just wanting to sure I need or need not take any further preventative measures. Best regards.
