Question: Hello, I%E2%80%99m female, 24 years old. I have what seems to be 2 swollen lymphnodes under my jaw line (where you would touch to get your pulse). its hard to tell how big they are exactly but i would say slightly larger than 1 cm, smaller than 2cm for sure. They feel hard and movable. I felt a very small similar bump about 5 months back. In the past month it grew to be larger and now I feel 2. I did try antibioitics and that did not help. I%E2%80%99m getting an MRI next week. What do you think this could be? I do have more information if needed.

Brief Answer:
Hii. Please contact any Ent surgeon. This swelling can be lymph node enlarg

Detailed Answer:
Hii. Please contact any Ent surgeon. This swelling can be lymph node enlargment due to bacterial infection, granulomatous inflammation. This can be also due to tuberculosis infection, any dermoid cyst, sebaceous cyst or any tumour. So you need to get a fine needle aspiration cytology of the swelling to get the idea of the nature of the swelling. Do a ultrasonography of the neck to see the structures of the neck and whether there is any pathological condition of those structures present or not. Get a routine blood test, thyroid function test done. Get a chest x ray done. But you need to get a fine needle aspiration cytology of the swelling and send the report. If the report comes out to be infection or inflammation or any tubercular infection then we need to start antibiotic or medication according to the diagnosis. If it comes out to be any sort of tumour the it need to be treated accordingly. So follow the advice and review if you have any queries.
