Hello, I'm 42 Years Old And Husband & I Have

11/8/19 - Intercourse after positive ovulation test sticks
11/23/19 - cycle started
11/26/19 - cycle ended
12/1/19 thru 12/12/19 - checked ovulation test sticks daily, all negative
12/13/19 - cycle or bleeding started, two weeks from last cycle, first time ever in all my menstruation history
12/15/19 - short bleeding, ended in 3 days, never was as heavy as reg cycle, no cramps like reg cycle
12/16/19 thru today - checked ovulation test sticks daily, all negative, also checked pregnancy test sticks, all negative as well
I'm hoping someone can give us some guidance, as this is the first time we tried to match up intercourse w/ ovulation, and this is the first time I've had two cycles (bleeding) so close together, about 2 weeks apart. We appreciate any advise/feedback!

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
I have gone through your query and would like to offer some information.
From the description you have given, I see that you experienced a short and early period, more likely to be a hormone breakthrough. This could be due to your age, stress induced by your constant check for ovulation or hormone disruption.
At your age, I would suggest a proper clinical evaluation and medical supervision for planning conception. This is because of the lesser ovarian reserve which leaves fewer chances for failure.
Natural trials are therefore better restricted to not more than 2 or 3 cycles.
Ovulation is better predicted by follicular study and recording of basal body temperature. Ovulation tests do not detect ovulation but the LH peak which occurs hours prior to ovulation. So correlation may not be accurate enough.
Hope I have clarified your query.
Please feel free to contact for further information.
I will be happy to help.
Regards
