Question: Hello, I'm curious if personally, It would be safe for someone like myself to leave home isolation after possibly having COVID-19 I was not tested but presumed positive due to my father who did test positive and was told to just follow the 14-day isolation with him. I am on my 11th day tomorrow makes 12 and so far 4 days have passed since symptoms disappeared am I allowed to leave and if I do am I safe to hug, kiss, etc. My dads doctor cleared him back to work but not me being the doctor wasn't for me and couldn't I guess give me any advice besides checking on me. I have no symptoms besides loss of smell currently.

Brief Answer:
You need to stay Isolation for 14 days

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thank you for your question Chase.goleman. I am sorry to read about your symptoms and still in isolation and hope I can be of help for you today. Through reading your query I understand that you have been in isolation for 11 days and want to leave this situation. Because your father has had Covid19 positive so you were in high risk and you had respiratory symptoms. People with Covid 19 can have fever, cough, trouble breathing and other symptoms. Most people who get Covid 19 will not get severely ill. But some do. So in many places, people have been told to stay home and away from other people. This is to try to slow the spread of virus. Even though, your symptoms disappeared for 4 days already, you still can spread the virus to others. The virus can passed easily between people who live together, where you talking close together, shaking hands, hugging, sharing food. If your doctor can not test you, there is the right thing that he tell you to stay home, avoid other people, and you should call if your symptoms get worse. Most people with Covid 19 have mild illness and can rest at home until they get better. This usually take about 2 weeks. If you are recovering from Covid 19, its important to stay home and self isolate until your doctor tell you it’s self to go back to your normal activities. It the right thing to do self quarantine at home for at least 14 days. Regarding to your swell symptom it possible the cause from you respiratory symptoms from respiratory virus. The symptoms can be up to a few weeks. If you not getting better for your losing smell symptom after few weeks letter you might go to see your doctor and he would like to know more detail history about it.
