Hello, I'm Experiencing A Mild, Sharp Pain Below My Left

default
Posted on Sun, 21 Oct 2018
Question: Hello, I'm experiencing a mild, sharp pain below my left rib cage in front. It's around my upper abdomen on the left. Not debilitating but it hurts. Started 2-3 hours ago, comes and goes. Can't feel anything when I press on the area, doesn't seem to make it better or worse. Slightly nauseous but could be anxiety about the pain. Head and back of neck feels hot but again I think that's anxiety and not a fever. Normal urine, normal bowel movement a hour ago. Female, 29 yrs old. Not pregnant. I have a very stressful sales job.

Brief Answer:
This can be many things or nothing

Detailed Answer:
Hi Alimarieclarke,

Thank you for your enquiry. What you describe sounds completely benign, e.g. a stomach virus, gastritis, or, as you mention, stress. If you can mange the pain without analgesics and you do not have a fever, I suggest you wait and watch a day or so. If there is no relief, please contact me again.

Best wishes.
