Hello. Is There Any Risk In Receiving A Non Sexual

Question: Hello. Is there any risk in receiving a non sexual massage with oil? Head, back, legs. Aboit 2 hours. Wouldn't be concerned but hj was offered and refused. Did not feel i was being remotely irresponsible at the time. But one std specialist said the potential of syphilos if secondary lesions present. Not sure if they were. I have spoken to 3 other specialists and they say categorically zero risk. What are your thoughts?

Brief Answer:
No risk of STDs
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to ask a doctor service. I have gone through your query and noted your concern.
There is no risk of STDs, whatsoever, from a body massage that didn't involve any sort of sexual contact i.e neither oral, vaginal or anal sex. Even handjob would not have posed any risk!
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you need any more assistance.

Hi doc. Thanks for your response. Can you explain why there would be no risk of syphilis transmission if she had secondary lesiins on hands? Would my skin have to be broken? Read conflicting info on secondary lesions from being highly contagious to dry and non contagious. Also one expert told me it simply never happens. Yoir thoughts?

Brief Answer:
No risk of Syphilis
Detailed Answer:
hi.
There are no reports of STDs transmission through hands. So, it never happens. Syphilitic lesions on hands are dry (papulosquamous) and the bacteria isn't found in those. Only moist lesions like oral ulcers/ patches and condyloma acuminata in moist body folds like genitalia, perianal area are contagious.
Take care

Ok thanks doc. Really appreciate your advice. Final question. How can i move on from my irrational fears. Any psychological advice to stop my ocd here. I realise it is scientifically zero risk. As you say, no history. Need to move on but been in a dark place for a long time.
Again, thanks for your prompt and professionalism. I will rate you highly.

Hello doctor,
Sorry. I feel the need to consult you again.
I went for a massage again yesterday. Mainly because i wanted tonease my irrational fears. Even safer thisntime! I was wearing black trousers and t shirt. Hand job was offered but refused. She didn't even really touch my skin other than arms. However, next day i noticed a slight cut on my leg. This could have been a coincidence but has left me worried.
Am I at any risk at all? Not sure howni received this cut. Could have been in my sleep. The lady could not have contacted this cut through my jeans. But, I am still worried. If ahe scratched me and she had nicks on her fingers, could it have infected me with anything? Particularly worried about HIV now.
This is all probably related to my previous fears but the last thing i needed to see was that cut.

Hi.
I have reviewed the images.
There is no risk. HIV simply cannot get in through the skin and never through minor cuts or abrasions like this.
Take care

Hi doc,
There was a little faint blood the next day. Is it simply fair to say my jeans/trousers would have also been too thick? Read HIV can't pass through clothing. Would you agree with this?

Just to clarify. No blood on the jeans but in the scratch. It had dried by the time I sent the picture.
Also, read blood needs to go deepninto the tissue. So, wouldni theoretically need to see large blood stains from her on my trousers at the same point to have any chance of being worried? Also, would inreally need an actively bleeding wound deep, possibly needing stiches?
Would you agree this isna nonsensicalnconcern and I should completely move on?

Brief Answer:
Regarding HIV
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
of course HIV cannot pass through clothing and its impossible to not have any stain on your clothing if it did happen to be her blood and if it indeed was her blood then of course it cannot pass through intact skin. Moreover it is extremely unlikely that she was bleeding at exactly the same spot where you had a skin break and moreover a scratch doesn't provide access to the virus. You need to move on.
Take care.
