Brief Answer:
Try ursodeoxycholic acid tablets for 3 months.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and Welcome to 'Ask A Doctor' service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You could try Ursodeoxycholic acid tablet 600mg twice daily for 3 months to see if they can dissolve the stones. However, it is effective only in case of cholesterol stones and has no effect on stones made up of calcium or which are mixed stones in nature.
Success rate post 3 months therapy may be up to 50-60%.
However if after three months if stones are there then just go for laparoscopic removal of the gallbladder. There is no conservative approach except giving ursodeoxycholic acid a try.
Hope I was helpful.

Hello Doctor,
Thank you for the response. I was told earlier that there is no stone as they did Ultrasound in 2017. That time also I used to have the pain. There is a constant dull pain but if there is any starchy or spicy food the pain becomes sharper. Is there any way to know the reason for this discomfort. My HIDA scan result with ejection fraction as 46% in 2017. Is there anything I can do to make this improve and get cure from the dull pain or any pain from the gallbladder.
Please advise as I need to get cured fully.
Thanks & Regards,
Anupriya

Doctor,
I have ejection fraction of 46%. Is it necessary to remove the gall bladder? Because I have read there are lot of side effects like difficulty in digesting fat, may cause diarrhea or constipation and many more. Isn't there any medicinal approach to treat this gallbladder problem. I am very scared and reluctant to remove any of my body organ.
Thanks & Regards,
Anupriya

Brief Answer:
follow up.
Detailed Answer:
Hi Anupria,
Firstly the gallbladder has no role except storing extra bile secreted by the liver. As per researches in the next 100 years, it would be a vestigial organ in the human body. Whatever you have read is all bookish text in practical its a very safe operation.
What did your gastro suggest to you?
waiting for the reply.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again,
My answer was based on the first line of this thread, which says that you are suffering from continuous pain...
However, if diet helps you then initially go for it but if you feel difficult to control the taste buds a very safe surgery is always there.
Hope I was helpful.
Wish you a fast recovery.
Thank you!
