Hello Sir My Daughter Age 8 Months Having Fever Around

My Daughter age 8 months having fever around 100.5 degree we have given T98 in afternoon but still ferver is 99.6 degree cel . Now pls suggest me the medicine for her asap.
pls also tell me the doses.
Looks like viral illness - only Paracetamol, please.
Detailed Answer:
Hi...
Fever for a few days without any localizing signs could as well a viral illness. Usually, rather than fever, what is more, important is the activity of the child, in between 2 fever episodes on the same day.
If the kid is active and playing around when there is no fever, it is probably a viral illness and it doesn't require antibiotics at all. Once viral fever comes it will there for 4-7 days. So do not worry about duration if the kid is active.
Paracetamol can be given in the dose of 15mg/kg/dose (maximum ceiling dose of 500mg) every 4-6th hourly that too only if fever is more than 100F. I suggest not using combination medicines for fever, especially with Paracetamol.
Meftal-P contains Mefenamic acid which is an NSAID. It carries the risk of gastritis and renal problems in the long run. Please do not use Meftal-P.
If you can get back to me with the weight of the kid, I will suggest you appropriate medication.
Also, mention what is the strength of T-98 you are having.
Best regards

weight of kid is 8kg

You can give 1.2 ml
Detailed Answer:
Hi...You can give 1.2 ml of the Paracetamol drops every 4 or 6 hourly if the temperature is more than hundred degrees Fahrenheit.

No need to worry looks like viral fever
Detailed Answer:
Hi... as it is only 2 days of fever we can wait.
Usually viral fever will last for 4-5 days and have a maximum of 7 days.
If the kid is active when the fever touches the baseline you need not worry about the height of temperature.
Best regards
