Question: Hello, This is embarrassing, but I have inconsistent bladder incontinence where some days things are fine and others where I have no bladder control. Occurrence: last 4 weeks. Back orthopedist ruled out cauda equina. Had a hysterectomy and prolaspe repairs with mesh 2007. Next stop is urologist. No UTI. Any suggestions? Overactive bladder? Treatment options?

Brief Answer:
Overactive bladder or pelvic organ prolapse

Detailed Answer:
Hi Pattykosek,

From what you describe, it sounds like either overactive bladder or pelvic organ prolapse. Both conditions have conservative and surgical treatment options, e.g. pelvic exercises or antimuscarinergic medicine. A urologist or urogynecologist can certainly diagnose it and help treat it.

Hope this helps.
