Hello! This Past Sunday Got An Injury Resulting In Road
![default](/r/images/default.png)
Question: Hello!
This past Sunday got an injury resulting in Road Rash on my knees and elbows.
Same day as injury, I stopped the bleeding. Showered and cleaned the wounds.
Put thin layer of Aquaphor on wound, covered with Non Stick gauze pads.
Wrapped in gauze and secured with bandage wrap.
I change the bandage daily after showering using Dial bar soap to wash the wound.
When I do change the bandage I notice colors varying in red to yellow (and in between) on the gauze.
Currently I feel fine, no fever. Wounds dont smell, arent emitting heat, nor so they hurt more.
Is this normal for wounds like this to discharge or should I worry??
thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
The slight yellow color is common.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the query.
The slight yellow color is common because the symptoms exudate(fluid from the wound) will be yellowish in color.
It will be better to start a short course of antibiotics if the wound is large in size or if there are signs of infection.
It the wound is superficial, no need to cover the wound, and you can leave it open after applying Aquaphor.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks

first pic is my right elbow next ks my right knee.
both were taken right after a shower where I cleaned with soap and actually was able to use a wash cloth.
The shower wasnt as painful and the wounds seem to be a lot more XXXXXXX with the joints.
my joints are a little sore, I think its brusing from the slam?
I dont think I see or feel any signs of infection right now. Wounds that I sent the pictures of arent exmitting any heat nor are they smelling.
what do you think, how do they look?
