Hello! Two And Half Months Ago I Fell Down My
Question: Hello! Two and half months ago I fell down my stairs at home and had very bad bruising on my lower left leg, along with major swelling on the ankle and foot of that side as well. I went to the doctor and a three view X-ray of my ankle was done, which showed no fractures but diffuse soft tissue swelling. The swelling and bruising lasted many weeks but finally resolved. Currently, for the last few weeks I have an area right above the medial malleolus (I googled that terminology lol) which is neither swollen nor bruised anymore, but is tender to the touch. Is it normal for soft tissue injuries to still cause tenderness three months later? Also, since I have some health anxiety and my mind wanders, if there was anything worrisome on that area like a sarcoma etc., it would have shown on the xrays, correct? Thank you so much for your time!
I’ve attached a copy of the X-ray report as well as two images of how my ankle looked shortly after the fall.

Hi there
Thanks for the query
I have read your well written justify and viewed the images and xray report.
Usually ligament sprains take 6-12 weeks to heal. They may remain painful till that time. You do appear to have some swelling of the left ankle region.
I suggest physiotherapy would help reduce stiffness and swelling in due course. Also limb elevation and icing may help.
There is no report of sarcoma or such in your report so not to worry.
I hope I have answered your query.
I will be available to answer your follow up queries.
