Question: Hello, about a month ago I had a bad stomach virus and I recovered about a week later. shortly after that I noticed lymph nodes on my left side have become mildly swollen but they don't seem like they are too large or popping out they just seem slightly swollen. I can move them around & there is no pain when I move them. I do not feel sick, I have a regular appetite and I feel healthy over all. What could the cause of this be?

Brief Answer:
Reactive lymph node enlargement most likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome to the 'Ask A Doctor service'.
I have reviewed your query and below is my advise.

You have history of lymph node enlargement following infection of stomach.
So it is suggestive more towards reactive lymph node enlargement following infection.
Usually such type of lymph node enlargement subside to it's normal size within few days after infection without any treatment.

If enlarged node remain persistently enlarged or increasing in size in next few days than you should get investigated further with USG scan local part and FNAC if applicable.

Hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Brief Answer:
FNAC can be done for further work up.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Welcome back to the 'Ask A Doctor service'.

Your lymph node is enlarged since one month as per history.

So you can do further work up in form of FNAC to rule out nature of lesion means whether it is inflammatory enlargement or neoplastic enlargement.

You can discuss about doing FNAC investigation to your treating doctor.

Hope I have answered your question.

Let me know if I can assist you further.
