Hello, After A Sexual Contact I Sudden Had A Smell

Question: Hello, after a sexual contact I sudden had a smell odor changed on my body and only my clothes, smelled like infection or medicine, thing proved by others. Now more than after a month and all STD checked I still have an unusual body odor, for example when I rub myself with fingernails and put them to the nose I feel a spicy smell, totally unusual of me because I was not smelling, I am white causian, and even when I was sweatting my sweat was not smelling according to others. Also from the very first day I lost my sensibility to my nipples, and had a dry month and a loss appetite for few weeks, and a weird balanitis. Is this autoimune, hormonal or what should I follow?

Hello and welcome to Ask a Doctor service,
I carefully read your query. I am sorry for the struggles you are going through.
It is unlikely for STDs to cause a body smell (unless there are increased urethral secretions and there may be bad odor with these secretions).
Almost all the symptoms you explain can be due to anxiety (increased sweating, increased smell with sweating, dry mouth, altered sensations in certain areas, loss of appetite, etc).
On the other hand, to better evaluate you kindly let me know of the following:
- for how long have you had balanitis?
- can you explain how it looks?
- is it possible to upload a photo if you still have balanitis?
- do you have increased urethral secretions or any urinary symptoms?
- do you have any fever or joint pains or other skin rashes (these are common in autoimmune conditions?
- have you had other tests other than the tests for STD? It would be helpful if you can upload the tests for me to further evaluate them.
I hope to hear back from you soon with the answer to the above questions. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Thanks for fast reply.
- have you had other tests other than the tests for STD? It would be helpful if you can upload the tests for me to further evaluate them.
A:I did all most common teststhe tests for STD, blood for HIV and Syfilis and the rest PCR, I will do soon blood for Chlamydia and Gonnorea.
- for how long have you had balanitis?
A:It's some form of balanitis(attached you'll find pictures), it all started from the very first day after contact, with a ulcer lookalike starting from my urethra then getting sort of dryness and a red spot visible sometimes. I also sprayed 2 times isopropilic alcohol on my penis 30 min after contact, hope is not due to that. The symptoms are: by time to time urethra burns, and rarely goes on gland and foreskin, maybe nerve related. Also foreskin is softer and each morning hard to retract from my gland. Did a bacterial test nothing found under foreskin. Treatment according to urologist was for moment till I complete medical researches to use a steroid cream which was only helpful for my burning urethra, but did not helped the rest.
- do you have increased urethral secretions or any urinary symptoms?
A:According to medical results, I have Mucus and calcium oxalate stone in my urine, and also density is higher than normal. However I do not have urethral secretions.
- do you have any fever or joint pains or other skin rashes (these are common in autoimmune conditions?
I rarely got fever in my life, it's also a case of no fever now, I do have some muscular contractions most of day which concern me, stiff neck, and coldness and a bit pain in my knees by time to time, but I got a bit sedentary lately.
Also I ve been quite sick lately after the incident, having constient convulsions since the very first day and got milder by time. Those I associate with anxiety and trauma but I m not sure because milder they get, the body odor I m smelling is softer.
Attached you'll find pictures of my mouth and balanits after 3 days of intentionate unhygiene.

Hello and welcome back,
Thank you for the detailed answer, I also checked the uploaded images.
I did not notice any photos of the mouth or any labs attached.
If you did not have the tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea done I would advise you to have these done soon. Also, a test for syphilis and HSV 2 are other tests that are important to have due to the ulcer you had.
Do not use alcohol locally as alcohol has a drying effect and may cause you to have lesions due to that.
Also, I do not understand why you had the 3 days of intentional unhygiene. I would recommend you to daily wash your genitals with warm water, use no soaps or detergents (avoid even those commercial soaps that say they are for sensitive areas). Sometimes, there may be a reaction to such products and is best to avoid them so they do not cause lesions or local problems.
As for the sweating:
- you will need a check with your doctor to evaluate if you fulfill the criteria for anxiety. Many of your symptoms can be explained by anxiety (as I mentioned above). I you have moderate to severe anxiety, treatment for anxiety may be indicated and helpful.
- make sure you do the rest of the tests as mentioned above to definitely rule out other infections
- shower daily
- Use clothes that are not too tight and that can absorb sweat well (cotton).
- Use prescription antiperspirant with Aluminium chloride (Drysol, Xerac Ac).
- If you have never checked your thyroid and sugar levels, this may be a good time to do so (TSH and FBS tests).
If you have any pictures of the mouth or any labs that you would like me to check, please feel free to upload them.
I hope I have given some answers to your query and have been helpful to you. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Contactact was 0000.
I just uploaded 2 photos with my mouth. The labs are ok, unfortunately I can upload them later. I did 2 series of hemogram(08/10/19):
What was wrong first time(: lymphocites (too low 13%, minimum was 20), red blood cells and hemoglobin a bit higher than normal. This time on (11.11.19) only red blood cells and where higher than normal.
The urine had bigger density, calcium oxalate and mucus.
I don t think is related to anxiety, because first symptom that I had was a huge feeling of infection and my state of mind was very relaxed only related to my body. Basically, I smelled myselft and there was a sick smell in my nose. Then other people confirmed that in the place I live smells like medicine, or sickness. I checked ENT as well, the answer was streptococcal, but there was no sterp found in the labs.

Hello again,
I am not able to access any other pictures other than the previous ones.
I understand that you may have had an infection at the time you felt unwell and others told you something smells like sick or medication. Most of the time when a house or a living area smells like sickness it is generally due to a viral infection that the patient is going through.
I am pretty sure that has improved as viral infections generally are self-limiting and improve within a week.
You will need to have the tests for chlamydia and gonorrhea (syphilis and HSV2 as well if you have not had these) to rule out these infections and have peace of mind.
As for the sweating please follow the instructions I gave above on clothing and medicated antiperspirant. Also, consider having the tests I mentioned if you have not had them in the last year.
I still believe you may have some anxiety as well and it is helpful to be screened for it and rule it out as well. There is a questionnaire that the doctor can give you to fill and score the level of anxiety.
Please feel free to upload any labs that you would like me to check. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.

Hello, I've just uploaded all the lab tests, they are not in English, but not hard to understand.
Regarding STD, I will do a blood for Chamidia for antibodies, all PCR are done, I will make also HPV screening saliva and urethra.
For sure there is something unusual with my body, the anxious level is almost none at the moment. I wake up last night with an inside burning of my face and my tongue dry like I could feel it and "swallow".
As I mentioned, this is the worse sick I ever had with worse symptoms, the anxiety came after the symptoms not before, and now is none, and I still feel there is some infection in my body due to the fact that my salivary glands are malfunctioning and I have some weird vertigo wake ups with some kind of burning inside feeling like my skin is cold but under is hot.
Also the sick smell that comes from my body when I rub myself, I do not know if it's due to my nose or is really a chemical change of my body.
My hygiene is proper, I do not smoke, I rarery consumed alchohol.
Please advice what investigation should I do more, what doctors should I see or if you have any idea of what dessease can be please let me know. Thank you!

Thank you!

Hello and welcome back,
Unfortunately, I can not access any labs as yet. Please ask the help of the administrative staff so they can assist you with the uploads.
Whenever you have the results of chlamydia and gonorrhea tests, I would be glad to check them as well.
First, it is important to rule out the chance of a sexually transmitted disease so the tests for all STDs are important.
Sweating is a function that is very much affected by emotions and stress. There have been many cases that my patients say they do not feel stressed or anxious but even though they are not aware of the emotional side of it, they do have physical symptoms to stress and anxiety. And, once treatment for anxiety is started they feel more released.
Also, for the sweating, there are treatments that can be tried to reduce the amount of sweat and odor, after an infection is ruled out (the tests for infections are done).
So to conclude:
- let's first have the results of the tests to rule out a present infection
- if the tests do not show any infection then we can consider the medicated antiperspirants (mentioned above) to help with the amount and odor of your sweat.
- Also, it may be beneficial in this case to have some general tests to see your health in general: TSH and FT4 (for the thyroid function), CBC and ERS to make sure you do not have any anemia and are not fighting something (infection), basic metabolic profile (fasting sugar, liver and kidney tests, lipids, UA, etc)
- if all the tests come out normal then anxiety can be considered and may need to be addressed.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you. I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
