Question: Hello, approximately five days ago my fiancé, 41 years of age while showering noticed her knuckles on both hands suddenly feel like they were on fire. The water seem to cause a sudden hypersensitivity just on the knuckles of both hands. It went away after a short time but has now progressively worsened to where she doesn’t even have her hands under the water to feel this burning sensation. She is not a diabetic. She recently started using Tumerick as a supplement and She is on a strong antibiotic as she just had nasal surgery. Any ideas would be helpful thank you

Brief Answer:
Topical steroid & antihistaminic

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to ask a doctor service
I have gone through your query and it seems to be an allergic reaction probably to antibiotic.
I would recommend her to apply topical steroid like cortisone cream on the affected areas twice daily and take antihistaminic like tablet chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg twice daily for 5-7 days.
This should help in resolving her problem.
I hope to have answered your query and would be happy to answer any further queries.
Regards
Dr Asmeet
