Hello Doctor, Can Somebody Identify If The Possible Stain On

default
Posted on Fri, 21 Feb 2020
Question: Hello doctor,
Can somebody identify if the possible stain on my trouser leg could be a blood stain? Commin sense tells me no, but would like reassurance.
Basically went for a non sexual massage but it was a bit if a seedy establishment and hj was offered - flat out refused by the way.
I never removed my trousers and would think nothingg of this but i had a slight scratch/cut in skin the next day above my knee. I have consulted 5 online experts and all tell me zero risk.
Although that has now healed - you can still see the scab - there was a faint red line the next morning like a deep nail scratch. However, rational me can not see how i could have been scratched through the thick material of my trousers and if i somehow was i would have felt pain which i did not.
Furthermore, the pinkish mark in the area, is this clearly not a blood stain? Inwoukd nothave thought so. Can somebody confirm?

Brief Answer:
That is very unlikely

Detailed Answer:
Hi Jacki35,

I have looked at the photo. This does not look like a blood stain at all. I agree with the other experts, it could be a food stain.

What is your worry? That you have caught something?

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi Dr,
Yes. I think it is fair to say that i suffer from ocd anxiety, especially when it comes to stds. Fear is something like HIV, syphilis or Hep C. Mainly HIV
As I say. No sexual contact whatsoever. Although it seemed a bit seedy I felt safe in having a massage. Added reassurance kept all clothes on. But this cut on my leg - small scratch - and this stain has caused my anxiety to set in. Dr Anders, are you 100% this could not be a blood stain?
Other doctors did not realy comment on stain but did state zero risk from any disease.
Worry is i was cut and she was bleeding and seeped through trousers into cut. Is this utter nonsense in your opinion?

Brief Answer:
Most certainly not blood

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

I completely understand that you are worried, and I can imagine your ocd and anxiety are not helping. In my view this is most certainly not a blood stain.

Where is this cut you mention? Do you have a photo of it?

Also, this stain is in the vicinity of the knee area. Especially if you consider i was being massaged there.

Final question. Would an in person visit to a doctor allow a doctor to categorically tell this is not blood? I am quite certain too it is not, but would a live visit confirm this?
Wife is pregnant and I just want to move on and stop obsessing. I am reassured somewhat, but what so you think?
Also, spoken with the massuese. She is adament she is clean, she did not cut me and she did not bleed on me. Also claims she does not sleep with men. Just worried about all the handjobs she must have given people. Still, read this is mainly no risk anyway. All this anxiety for a simple massage!!

Also doc, what would you expect a blood stain to look like on thisntype of material? As a general surgeon, I imagine you see a lot of it. Common sense tells me it would be dark red amd barelybvisible on these trousers and certainly not the orange type color we see. But as I say, when the ocd sets in, difficult to rationalise.

Brief Answer:
A blood stain is dark

Detailed Answer:
Hi again,

A blood stain is dark, the stain on the photo looks more like some sort of food spillage. I see plenty of blood every day, so rest assured; the stain on your pants is not blood.

Wishing you all the best.
