Question: Hello doctor I am 29years old I had cervical erosion at age 24 and I had to went through cryotherapy
I had two pap smear after that which shows inflammation smears negative for neosplasia
And my doctor shows no concern
Although I had uti also at that time
After that I had a child and I didn't went to pap smear for 3years
Recently I had one pap and pelvic examination which my gynaecologist says no erosion and pap shows negative
But I have a question
This time I changed my doctor and my pap is done in my village hospital
And the nurse who done it without speculum she just put the swab inside my vagina.
But in the results it showing endocervical cells are present...
How trustworthy is these results
Should I go for another pap?
Also my period are very scanty...
But I don't spot or bleed after sex or between periods...

So can a pathologist differentiate between endocervical cell and other cells?
Actually I shifted to rural area and a good hospital from my area is a journey of 3hours.
Also it was not a liquid based cytology like my other two pap
It was conventional pap smear.
And results are given within 2days

Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Endocervical cells can be detected at the histopathological examination but to get the endocervical cells without using a speculum is difficult.
Conventional PAP smear can collect endocervical cells. Still it is best to get a repeat test done after one year in the city hospital.
Hope my answer is helpful.

Brief Answer:
The report seems to be correct.
Detailed Answer:
I do feel that the pap smear done shows the correct report. You do not have any symptoms also. You can wait and then get a repeat smear done.
