Question: Hello doctor,

My 3 year old daughter has fever since 6 days now. The fever was sometimes going upto 102 degree Farenhite. She was not having cold or cough. Other symptoms were:
- vomiting
- reduced appetite
- mild pain in stomach
- pain while urinating
- red eyes
- body pain
We were giving her Crocin DS(6ml SOS), Meftal P(6ml >102 F).
We consulted a doctor today and he advised some blood tests and urine test. The reports are attached. Please check the reports and let us know if any action needs to be taken urgently.

Thanks,

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on Ask A Doctor platform

I have gone through the query, have seen the reports and do understand your concern.
Reports show raised CRP which may be due to bacterial infection or inflammation. The blood count is not exactly suggestive of bacterial infection.
The source/site of infection is not clear as there is no sore throat, loose motion and urine report is also not very much suggestive.
In such cases I would like to get few more tests done like procalcitonin and blood culture to confirm bacterial infection.
Also from my opinion antibiotic treatment should be started as already there is fever for 6 days.
I request you to consult a pediatrician and discuss about the investigation and treatment.

I hope this helps.
Please let me know if you have any more questions.
Wishing for your baby's good health.
Regards
