I have always had dry eyes for which I am using genteal de ointment lubricant frequently . For the past few days I felt like the dry symptoms were bit too much . Now today while cleaning my eyes with jhonson ear buds which I use always for cleaning my eyes . I accidentally coughed and I feel I coughed right at the buds box which I was holding . At that time without thinking I used it to clean the eyes ( which the inner and outer corner and eyelashes) . I used some four ear buds for both of eyes . The box was almost three fourth full . From that time I am very much scared. Will I get eye infection because of that . Please help me . Here the doctors don’t give medicines so easily . Please help me

Brief Answer:
Suspected infection

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for sending your query to us.
The infection if it is there through cough,is already there in the body .Inner lining of throat is continuous through the nose into the eye.Thereby infection from chest is already present in the eye.It takes 24 to 48 hours for any new infection to flare up in the body, that time is already past. Now you can rest assured that there will be no new infection in the eye.
Take good general care and huygine of the eye and do get back to me in case of any further query in this regard.

Brief Answer:
Suspected infection

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Thanks for getting back to me.
It was very good and thoughtful of you to add a photograph as well. These red veins are absolutely ok and I would be keen to start antibiotic eye drops if you have any watering or discharge, especially in the morning when you get up.
As long as you don't have any of these two, there is nothing to worry, wait and watch, and rest assured this could as well be due to cold weather.
Any problem,do get back to me immediately.

Hello doctor
My eyes still feel very tired and sometimes it stings ... sometimes I feel hot flushes feeling . I see sometimes so many small red veins in the left eye . I am scared doctor . You very well know that here doctors don’t give any medicine . So in case of any emergency I do have vigamox with me . Is this medicine to be used only for bacterial or can it be used for viral also ... if not please suggest me some medicine which I can buy from XXXXXXX in case of emergency .

Brief Answer:
Lubricant eye drops.

Detailed Answer:
My dear,
Good of you to get back to me.
In your case it is not vigamox which will help you,Lubricant drops are the answer.
you will get lubricant eye drops from pharmecy, they are to be put in 3 to 4 times a day and will help you.Vigamox helps in bacterial infection and what you have is not bacterial infection and lubricant drops will have a soothing effect.
