Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not related to the heart

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Welcome back to Ask a Doctor service!

I understand your concern and would like to reassure you that your symptoms are not related to the heart, based on the description of the pain and your performed cardiac tests.

Sharp pain in this region is typical of a musculoskeletal pain ( costochondritis or local inflammation).

So just relax and don't worry about it!

Ibuprofen and Tylenol can help reduce the pain.

Local warm packs can help too.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask me again!

Wishing good health,

Dr.Iliri

Hello thank u ... I did wake up this morning still with that nerve like pain in my shoulder area and a little neaseated although perhaps I am hungry and the chest is tender to touch and my neck and traps are sore to touch and move just making sure you don’t think I need to seek medical attention for cardiac reasons

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

Your symptoms are not related to the heart. I can assure you about this.

In my opinion, your symptoms could be related to acid reflux and musculoskeletal pain, due to a wrong position during the night, which may have triggered all this clinical situation.

So, I would recommend trying to eat well, avoid coffee intake, and take some Tylenol for the pain.

If the chest discomfort persists, I would recommend taking an antiacid.

But there is no need for any cardiac tests, as I am sure that they will result normal. Nothing serious is going on!

So, try not to think about your heart, as it is quite OK.

Hope to you will find this answer helpful!

Let me know about everything!

Wishing all the best,

I would explain as follows:

Detailed Answer:
Dear XXXXXXX

You should know that zap like or shock like pain in this region is not typical of the heart, but it typical of a musculo-skeletal pain or nerve pain.

This is for men and women. There are not many differences in men and women when coming to the chest pain from the heart: it is like tightness and increases in severity in proportion to the physical activity. It is not modulated by deep breathing or manual pressure on the chest or any body position.

So, I am sure that your symptoms are not related to the heart.

There are no doubts about this.

Hope to have clarified some of your uncertainties!

Try to relax and don't think about it!

Wishing a nice weekend and Happy Easter,

Dr. Iliri
