Question: Hello,
i had a protected sex with a girl (i used a condom) but before that i made her a cunnilingus, it wasn't deep, it was superficial and quick.i am afraid of STD infection even though i know the risk is very low via oral sex.
- i had no wounds in my mouth
- she wasn't on her periods (as she said, i am not sure though)
i made the first test after 3 days (i didn't know it needs time) i was negative
i made a second test after 24 days of the intercourse and everything was negative and only the the simplex igg1 was +
we are on the 27th day and i have no symptoms other than some canker sores in my mouth at the moment which appeared 3 days ago
first question :
is a test after 24 days of the intercourse accurate enough ?
what is the Herpes simplex igg 1 which appears positive in my report ? is it dangerous ?
i am stressing too much.

Brief Answer:
IgG positive for HSV 1 infection is not related to present exposure.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Thanks for posting your query.
As you rightly pointed out, oral sex carries less risk for HIV /STD.
Tests for STD /HIV 24 days after the risky contact can't be taken as conclusive.
HSV 1 infection is not STI, HSV 2 only STD. IgG couldn't appear 24 days after exposure. IgM appears earlier. So the presence of IgG indicates old and non STD condition.
Nothing to worry.

Hello and sorry for my late reply. So do you think that in my case of oral sex i should re do the test in 3 month? Or it's not necessary since the risk is low?
Brief Answer:
It is up to you to decide.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
The risk is low with oral sex, but cannot say that there is no risk.
If you want yourself beyond any doubt, it is wiser to repeat the tests after 3 months. If you have confidence and if you can forget the incident, then ignore.
