Hello, I Listened To A Very Sad Song A Month

Question: Hello, i listened to a very sad song a month ago and i thought about bad things and in a very negative way like i will lose my mom, and due to my negative overthinking and grief at that moment of listening to this song i had a severe pain in my head for a little while (2 or 3 seconds) like someone has hit me on my head, and at the same moment (the moment of the pain) or after few seconds i had an idea that i will develop brain cancer because of this pain and grief. This idea destroyed my life. Can an extreme grief for minutes with pain in the head cause mutations and damage to DNA and genes and cause brain cancer? If not why i had this idea in the moment that i felt this severe pain (for 2 or 3 seconds) ? Do i have to do MRI test for my brain after 1 year or 2 years to see if this incident caused me a brain cancer? Why the idea do not leave me and go since a month? And is it true that when you feel an extreme grief and extreme pain in the head for a few seconds or minutes this cause severe damage to brain cells and cause mutations to DNA and genes? Should i do brain MRI test? Hope you answer me because i can not be happy anymore because of this idea.
Brief Answer:
Not a serious condition. Mood problems.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome to "Ask a Doctor " service.
I have read your query.
Yours are problems with the mood, and there is nothing indicative for any brain tumor or other lesions.
The pain that you felt is known as ice pick headaches, and is considered as benign condition.
Stress is a well known trigger for such head pains.
I don't see a reason to do a brain MRI, there are no changes of DNA neither.
The only thing to do is to peace your mind, because there is not a serious condition.
You should discuss your issues with a Psychologist.
Hope you found the answer helpful.

Thats mean i will not develop cancer after 2 years because of this extreme grief and pain (2 or 3 seconds) while listening to that song? So why the idea dont leave me?

I am not talking about a brain cancer that is already exists, but i have fears that the situation that i mentionned will cause me DNA and genes mutations and brain cancer after many years, is that true? Should i do a MRI after 2 years???? Please read what i mentionned to well understand my situation.

Welcome back.
Mood problems do not change DNA or genes, so, I don't think that you will develop any brain tumor because of this grief and pain.
You just need to deal with your psychological issues.
If you will have this fear of tumors after one year, you could have a brain MRI done in order to peace your mind.
Discuss with a Psychologist for these issues.
Hope I helped you.
Feel free to ask if you have further questions.
