Hello,
How do I upload a picture?
How do I upload a picture?
Hello,
I upload the pictures. that is my left hand holding a place that is tender/mildly hurts. I did get a back injury right behind it in January that still bothers me. I wonder if I pulled something.
I do not have nauseu, radiation of pain, fever vomitting etc. I was wondering if it had anything to do with my liver, pancreas or gallbladder etc.

Brief Answer:
It is left upper quadrant, likely to be muscular pain.
Detailed Answer:
Hello again XXXXXXX
Thanks for the pic.
The part you are holding with your left hand is clearly right upper quadrant, your hand is across the left hypochondrium crossing into the epigastrium..
If you feel pain on minimal pressure in the region (just by placing your hand), then it is more likely to be muscular in origin (probably due to a pulled muscle that covers your abdomen and is attached to the ribs deep to where you have placed your hand).
If the pain is deep seated, then it is more likely to be due to gastritis.
If you no other symptoms, then I would recommend you to apply ice pack to the region 3 times a day alternating that with hot compress 3 times a day for 3 to 4 days.
A pain killer would definitely help, but if the pain is due to gastritis, then a painkiller is not recommended as it makes gastritis worse.
Liver does not usually cause pain unless you have acute liver injury like the sort that occurs due to trauma.
Deep to stomach, spleen is present in the left hypochondrium (the part you are holding), again spleen also does not cause pain unless the injury is due to recent (one or 2 day old) trauma.
My suspicion is, it either due to a muscle pull or due to gastritis.
A clinical examination will definitely help in a proper diagnosis.
However, if it is not bothering you, then I would suggest you to take Omeprazole 20 mg twice a day for 5 days along with applying ice and warm compress alternatingly (if you apply ice for 10 minutes now, after 3 hours apply hot compress - warm to hot water in a bottle wrapped in a thin towel/paper towel - for 10 minutes, and again ice for 10 minutes 3 hours later).
Do this for a few days and see if you get relief.
But if you have any other issues, or if the pain is severe then it is best to go to the ER without delay.
I sincerely hope you will find this information useful.
I wish I could do more, but unfortunately without examining you in person, there is not much else I can offer.
Wishing you speedy recovery.
Warm regards
