Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not suggestive of ALS.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for posting your query.

I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and I would try my best to help you.

I have noted your clinical details. Based on this, your symptoms are suggestive of benign fasciculation syndrome (BFS). In this condition, twitching of muscles increase with anxiety. I would like to reassure that these symptoms are not suggestive of ALS.

I hope my answer helps. Please get back if you have any follow up queries or if you require any additional information.

Wishing you good health,

Brief Answer:
Your symptoms are not suggestive of ALS.

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

In ALS, the symptoms include wasting (thinning of muscles) and weakness of muscles. This should involve at least two of the three regions (arms/legs/bulbar-speech, swallowing, etc). Symptoms should be there for a few months and should worsen over time. You do not have any of these features, therefore, you do not have ALS.

Best wishes,

Dr Sudhir Kumar MD DM
