Hello, My Girlfriend Is 38 And The Morning After We
my girlfriend is 38 and the morning after we broke up a few days ago she said she was pregnant.
We only had one encounter where we used:
- pull out method
- birth control pill
- morning after pill
She said her doctor told her from blood test that she is 8 weeks along, however 8 weeks exactly prior to the blood test was the day we had this incident, so I don't see how she could be so far as 8 weeks along?
She also had a negative home pregnancy test 10 days ago and a positive as well she said (both when she would have been 6 weeks along roughly) - how would 1 test show negative?
Could I have it explained how she could be pregnant from this one protected encounter and how she could be so far along in the pregnancy?
Kind regards,
Andrew
Unlikley but possible!

Hi and thanks so much for this query.
Because you had sex with her and she's now pregnant, it's difficult to totally exonerate you. Though you used three methods to prevent pregnancy, they are never 100% effective. If she truly insists you are the author of this pregnancy, which you strongly think you are not, then request for a DNA/paternity test. I would say this would be safest after birth.
Other options may include considering an abortion if you both don't want to keep the pregnancy. That comes to your personal beliefs and the prevailing laws in your area.
Don't get too stressed over it because if she isn't being truthful, there are scientific ways to disprove her. A few things, but for the withdrawal method you can boost of, I am not sure she for real took the birth control and morning after pill. Remember some ladies might actually lie to you about these if they want to trap you into getting them pregnant.
In all, be calm. If she insists it is you, worry not and pursue avenues for paternity testing which would either confirm or refute her claims.
I wish you well. Keep me posted and feel free to ask for more information/clarifications if need be.
I’m also confused as she’s 8 weeks along according to a blood test however it’s 8 weeks exactly since we were intimate. Surely if she was pregnant she’d only be about 6 weeks along?
I’ll note I’ve broken up with her before and she’s said she’s pregnant (and apparently miscarried at 10 weeks and I found it odd she didn’t need a D&C and I wasn’t around for any of this) so this all feels like Déjà vu to me

Hi,
We can only take her word for now. She might be telling a lie and time would unravel the truth. Between, how do you feel having a child now and with her?
More guidance would depend on your wishes as well. Let me hear from you!
This time as she said she’d taken two negative tests prior to the break up, suddenly once I broke up with her she said one test was positive. Makes no sense. Also if she is 6-8 weeks pregnant why would 1 test be negative anyway...
It’s not best for us to have a child together given the circumstances the relationship was toxic.
She’d threatened suicide the second time we broke up and then when I didn’t buy it suddenly the next day she was pregnant...
She's just trying to keep!

Hi,
She's trying to keep you and this is about it! Whatever she says is in that light. I will encourage you to talk to her or simply ignore and go for paternity test if she really is pregnant.
I wish you well.
