One with exposure to COVID patient and overt symptoms should be tested

Detailed Answer:
Hi....
Welcome to "Ask a Doctor"service.
I am Dr Ajeet XXXXXXX

I have gone through your query and here is my opinion.

As per WHO recommendations, the symptomatology of COVID 19 also includes chills, cough, breathlessness, loss of smell and taste in addition to fever.
There can be severe muscle pains, headache, diarrhoea or sore throat.

As you and your mother were exposed to COVID 19 patient and are symptomatic,a PCR Test for COVID 19 is strongly recommended.

Hope that I have answered your query.

Stay healthy and stay blessed.
Regards.

Brief Answer:
One with exposure to COVID patient and overt symptoms should be tested

Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.

As per COVID 19 protocols, anyone who has had close contact with a confirmed case of corona virus infection should self quarantine, whether he has a symptom or not.
If the symptoms like fever, cough, breathlessness appear and worsen, they should be tested and if tested positive, they are hospitalized if needed.
As per definition, close contact with a Corona patient is being within 2 meters or 6 feet from the infected person for a significant period of time.

I don't know how much valid it is (Being on an online platform and not getting a "physical" consultation),you need to self quarantine yourself and get tested for COVID 19 if symptoms deteriorate.
This clinical opinion is in accordance with the WHO guidelines.

Happy living.
Warm regards.
