Hello, My Mother Has Having A Cone In Her Foot

Question: Hello, my mother has having a cone in her foot thumb from past few months. We have tried core band aid and megaheal ointment to soften and remove it. However, it is not going from root and develops again in few days. Due to this her foot thumb and foot area is also swollen and having pain. Can you suggest something for it to cure it from root? I am attaching the picture of her affected area. FYI... She is taking below medicines Amaryl M2 twice a day Telma 40 once a day Cardace 5mg once a day.

As per your mother's medical treatment,she is a Diabetic and Hypertensive.
Regarding Corn, Surgery is the best treatment.
Corn is CONE shaped.The part which we see is wider.When it goes inside,it becomes narrower.Most people will remove just the superficial Wide layer.The narrower deep layer will cause Recurrence.
There is Allopathic Medical treatment for Corn
I remove the Corn under local anaesthesia.The Great toe alone can be anesthetized.The.Corn can be removed till.the deeper layers Though,she is diabetic,she can undergo Surgery.
Major Surgeries are done on diabetic patients.So,do not postpone her Surgery as she is diabetic.

Is there any medicine or local ointment which I can apply to cure it. She is afraid of surgery and as I said she is having pain and that area is swollen. Also, if we opt for surgery, how much time it will take for surgery and what is the post healing period of the wound?

Hi,
I am sorry to say that there is no Medical treatment for Corn.
No ointment will work.

Surgery is very simple. The toe will be anesthetized. It is swollen because of mild inflammation and possible infection.
Surgery time will be around 15 - 20 minutes.
It may take 2 to 3 weeks for complete healing of the wound.

Her blood sugar levels should be checked regularly and it should be normal.
Nothing to worry.
Please give prescription based antibiotic like Amoxicillin and Anti-inflammatory tablet now to reduce the swelling as per her treating doctor's advice.
