Hello, Over This Past Year A Spiral Shape (like A

Question: Brief Answer:
You should see a specialist in infectious disease
Detailed Answer:
Hi Melramirez,
Thank you for the elaborate history. However, it would add a lot of information if you could attach a photo of the skin change. Do you have other symptoms, e.g. itching, burning sensation upon urination, penile discharge, red bumps, joint ache, etc.? What exact treatments have been tried?
It could be a parasitic infection. A venerologist or specialist in infectious diseases would probably be a good next step. But try to upload some photos, perhaps I can help you.
Best wishes.

Hello, over this past year a spiral shape (like a horizontal S) has formed on the head of my penis. It started on one side an now I see another on the other side of the head of my penis. I’m very hygiene conscious and not one who sleeps around on my wife. I saw a dermatologist but all the treatments given have not been successful. Does anyone have an idea of what I caught (gym or work bathrooms) and most importantly what type of Doctor I should see. Thank you very much MR

Thank you very much Doctor for the prompt reply. In answer to your questions, fortunately I don’t have any type of discharge, major itch or joint ache. I’m looking for a way to upload images for your review and analysis, also, the topic medication I have applied are Lucoid 0.1%. At this point I have seen an urologist who told me to put Aquaphor and not worry about it, and a dermatologist who prescribed Lucoid two times a day for two weeks. Any help is highly appreciated, especially what type of doctor I should see. Have a great day
Brief Answer:
You should see a specialist in infectious diseases
Detailed Answer:
Hi Melramirez,
Thank you for the photos. It looks like balanitis, which usually responds to antibiotics, e.g. fucidine acid or clotrimazole. I definitely think you should see a specialist in infectious diseases, just to be sure.
Hope this helps.

Doctor you’ve been an XXXXXXX thank you. I will indeed see a specialist as you recommend. One last question, if this is Balanitis how did I get it? Is it contagious? And what should I do to prevent going forward? Sorry it ended up being three questions.
Have a great evening

Brief Answer:
Wash with warm water
Detailed Answer:
Hi Melramirez,
It probably comes from direct contact, perhaps sexual contact. I advice you to keep it clean, wash daily with warm water.
Best of luck.
