Hello, This Question Is For Dr. XXXXXXX Branch. Hi, Dr.
Question: Hello, this question is for Dr. XXXXXXX Branch.
Hi, Dr. Branch! I have asked you several questions over the last year and a half (I had multiple UTIs in the summer of 2019 that you helped me with).
The last few days I have felt like there is something in the back of my throat when I swallow. I have had this feeling before and it’s gone away after a few days or a week, so I didn’t give it much thought. Tonight I was kind of wondering why the feeling is still there so I looked in the mirror. I saw yellowish-white spots in my throat which I assume is what I am feeling when I swallow. If I have had them before with this feeling, I don’t know because I’ve never looked. I have had white spots in my throat before when I’ve had strep throat but I don’t feel them when I swallow (actually that happened in the fall and I had talked to you about them. You and my family doctor said they could have been from the strep or were tonsil stones - they eventually went away). I currently have no symptoms of strep so I’m not sure what these are or why I have them. I have some health anxiety (as you may remember) so I am a bit worried now about what they are. I took photos and will attach them (I’m sorry the quality is not great - it’s hard to get a good photo of them). I’m not sure if they’re tonsil stones or not. Does it look to you like I need to see a doctor? I can call my clinic tomorrow. If they are stones, do they need to be removed? Is it possible they can go away on their own?
Thank you for your help. This just has me a bit freaked out.

Hii. Welcome to the healthcare services. It's nice to hear that you are doing well. It seems that you are having tonsillar keratosis or stones. Start warm saline gargle alternate with betadine gargle in normal water twice or thrice daily for 2 week. Tonsillar keratosis or stones disappear after gargle but it can form again due to accumulation of food materials. So continue gargle for at least 1 month. If it doesn't disappear after gargle after 2-3 week then u can review with an ent surgeon. Please review if you have any queries.
