Hey! So My Husband Has Had A Cough And A

Question: Hey! So my husband has had a cough and a lot of mucus for a couple months. He went to a walk in clinic twice. They gave him 2 different nasal sprays. One was a steroid. He also started drinking hot water with a TBS of apple cider vinegar and honey twice a day. It got a bit better. We went on a trip to XXXXXXX Scotia and it completely stopped, came home and about a week and a half later it all came back. He also experiences great fatigue with it. We live in Florida in an older home. I was wondering if it could be an allergy to something in the house.
Brief Answer:
Please do a chest X ray and some blood tests
Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome in HCM
I can understand your concern
As you explain the situation it might be that an allergic reaction is actually present too However it has been the ear infection the main cause.
Nevertheless in his condition if I was his doctor I would order a chest X ray a Hemogram and a CRP .If they come positive than the infection is yet present and the antibiotic should be continued or changed. If not than probably antihistamines drugs such as Telfast 180 mg twice orally for 10 days might help him with the allergy.
Please first discuss with his treating doctor for the above
Hope to have been helpful
