Hey Doc I Am A Little Worried And Probably For

Question: Hey doc I am a little worried and probably for nothing. I had Gallbladder surgery two months ago and started taking Lipitor around five weeks ago. As you you can see the Liver enzymes are a double and triple. Everything else I think looks fine. Any opinion of yours Doc would be very appreciated. I stopped taking the Lipitor to see if that was the cause. Waiting for your response. Thanks FYI - A month prior the AST was 41 and the ALT was 61. Aryeh

Still waiting for a response. Thanks
Brief Answer:
Lipitor may have caused increased transaminases.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear, welcome to Ask a doctor's service.
I read your query and here is my advice.
I think the only reason why you are having increased transaminases is lipitor.
It causes the liver enzymes to be increased as a side effect. Stopping it can make you have normal levels of ALT and AST.
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
