Hi- I Have Been Trying To Figure Out What Is

Question: Hi- I have been trying to figure out what is going on with me on brain fog, fatigue, distilled hair loss for the last 10 months. I have CIDP, diagnosed 4 years ago, which is known to drain energy and some light depression. it was caught early and is treated with monthly infusions which keeps me walking, mostly symptom free (with treatment). Occassionally, I relapse. It's only been recently that I don't wake up feeling refreshed and am experiencing all those mind related issues (not focusing, not energetic, struggling). A few things diagnosed recently: borderline anemia (4 months ago) not explained by blood tests (iron, b12, absorption, ferritin fine), Was determined by hemocrit and hemoglobin levels. These have since improved (been supplementing.
I also was diagnosed with Hashimotos although my TSH, T3, T4 levels, etc are ok and ultrasound ok. I was only diagnosed based on symptoms and on antibodies.
No treatment to date.

It was also determined that I am in perimenopause recently from blood tests.

Finally, I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy. My esophagus was widened because of mild inflammation and i have been diagnosed with Gerd. There was no internal bleeding or celiacs found.

I ran some sensitivity tests as well and don't seem to have any food allergies except for shellfish. I haven't done an elimination diet though.

I also had a recent test that shows I had EBV (Unknown at the time). I have antibodies of up to 600. I don't know if or what this means.

I am at a loss as to what could be causing my fatigue and how to address is. Is there anything else I should check? I need to be more crisp and energetic to function for my household and family. As it is, I go to bed pretty early and outside of work, don't overdo it. My husband isn't aware of any sleep issues (don't snore) I have established a new normal with CIDP. Some of what I used to do is "outsourced".

I am pesce vegetarian. I eat fish, eggs, drink milk. I supplement with iron, B12 selenium, insitol, magnesium citrate, tumeric, Niacin and Biotin. Vitamin D is fine.

Detailed Answer:
Dear ma'am,
I'm sorry for how you feel...

Reviewing your health condition, I could not find a real cause for your fatigue except for the menopause. So, on this basis, I recommend doing some hormonal lab tests as estrogen and progesterone as it can cause these symptoms...

Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards

Thank you.

Estrogen and Progesterone levels were ok when tested. I forgot to mention.
Does the EBV result mean anything? I don't show any signs of active virus.

Is there anything else I should pursue to rule out cause? I have had all the standard wellness blood tests (CBC, etc). My glucose was borderline the last time I ran it (high). I am always high on inflammation due to the autoimmunity.

Brief Answer:
Liver functions check up

Detailed Answer:
Dear Ma’am, hello again.. Since the estrogen and progesterone levels were ok then probably these symptoms are not due to premenopausal state. However, the borderline anemia is probably due to the Hashimoto thyroiditis, which will require only follow up until the TSH levels rise or T3 and T4 levels drop then you will need thyroid hormone replacement therapy..
I would recommend that you get a blood test for liver functions including SGOT and SGPT as EBV virus can affect liver functions in its chronic state.. An ultrasound abdomen is also recommended due to the same reason.. I hope you find this helpful
