Brief Answer:
Can be due to soft tissue swelling.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The pain in the dorsal area after the surgery can be due to mild soft tissue swelling that can cause painful supination and pronation. This usually resolves on its own with some physiotherapy exercises. In case there is a visible swelling on the area or the area is warm to touch then consult your doctor for an examination to rule out any infection in the area.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.
Wishing you good health.

Hi dr
I'm having scaphoid nonunion failed XXXXXXX screw fixation for the past 8 yrs ct was taken but no sign of arthritis and space between carpal bones are well maintained since the screw is holding the fragment
There is no pain or tenderness in the snuff box
I'm concerned dorsal wrist pain is due to scaphoid
Cause before carpel tunnel release I did not had pain in dorsal area

Brief Answer:
Not related to scaphoid.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The screw fixation was done 8 years ago. Since the screw is well placed and there are no signs of arthritis then the pain in the dorsum is not likely to be related to the non united scaphoid fracture. This is more likely to be a soft tissue inflammation. It should subside with mild pain killers and regular physiotherapy.
Hope my answer is helpful.
