Question: Hi! 27/F here. About a month ago I started experiencing ringing in just my right ear. It's not painful but it sure is annoying. Lately when I stand up it feels like the pressure is increasing in that ear, again not painful. I don't currently have health insurance so I am trying to figure out the severity of the situation ideas on what could happening?

Detailed Answer:
Hii. It's evident from your symptoms that you are tinnitus. There are many causes of tinnitus. It may be due to any infection of the ear which causes fluid accumulation of the ear. It may be due to any ear drum perforation. The most important cause of tinnitus is due to hearing loss due to nerve weakness. This nerve weakness may be due to any exposure of loud sound, viral infection. There are also other structures present in the neck causing tinnitus due to anatomical abnormality. So please consult an Ent surgeon. Get your ear drum examined. Do a pure tone audiogram to know about your hearing status. You also need to do a nasal endoscopy as you have uniteral tinnitus. Most of the causes of tinnitus are unknown. So always lead a stressfree life. Ignore the sound. Take less tea, coffee, salt. Switch on radio while sleeping.Swith on fan at a low speed whilesleeping. Avoid sound free environment. If hearing loss is present then use hearing aid for improvementof tinnitus. Pleaselet me know iflet me know if have any queries.
