Hi!! A Week Ago I Was Cleaning Under My Bed

Question: Hi!! A week ago I was cleaning under my bed and I came across about 20 tiny mouse droppings, of what I think is mouse droppings. Me being me, I googled mouse poop and found that you can contact a fatal virus from deer mice's feces. My head was under the bed, possibly breathing this in. Or perhaps when I was cleaning I accidentally touched my eyes or nose. I live in a city in North XXXXXXX in an apartment with a cat. To make matters worse, I've had a sore throat and signs of something coming for a week. I was to the doctor a week ago, had a steep culture, and found it was negative. Am I okay? Is it possible that I have the hentavirus? Should I be worried?
Brief Answer:
Need not worry
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your query.
Not all mice carry the hanta virus.
These kind of infections usually is seen as outbreaks rather than isolated incidences.
If there is no case recorded in recent past around your locality, then the chances of you getting one is less.
Get evaluated for the symptoms you have. Consult a MD for the same to rule out a flu.
Hope, I answered your query.
Wish you good health.
regards,
Need not worry

Hi! Thank you! There was no recorded instances in my local area but one recorded this last year in my state. I believe she was more rural though, while I am in a small rural town. I'm still nervous though because my mom and I cleaned my place and found scattered mouse droppings here and there in my two bedrooms. We cleaned it up but I'm still nervous we inhaled bad stuff from the poop or pee some how. Now, I'm not only worried about myself but my mom who is 70. What are the chances? Am I being crazy and worrying over nothing?
