Hi. About 2 Weeks Ago, I Had Sex With A

Question: Hi. About 2 weeks ago, I had sex with a stranger, and over the past week I've had a sore throat and pretty extreme fatigue. The sore throat isn't a normal sore throat. It doesn't feel irritated on the inside. It's more sensitive to the touch on the outside, just under my XXXXXXX apple, and it hurts when I sneeze. The discomfort in my neck has decreased over the past couple of days. I used a condom during sex. Should I be concerned about possible HIV exposure? Or are there more likely possibilities? I wasn't sure if I would be able to test positive this soon after possible exposure, even if I had contracted HIV.
Brief Answer:
There is no risk for HIV.

Hello and welcome in"Ask a Doctor".
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Based on your history, having protected sexual intercourse with a stranger, you shouldn't worry because there is absolutly no risk for HIV.
Please could you tell me if you have had oral sex or not?
The sore throat and fatigue could be related just with a viral situation.
Hope I have answer your query.
Feel free to ask me further.

We didn't have oral sex. Just kissed, and had sexual intercourse. I haven't had oral sex in a couple of months. If it is a viral situation, do I need to seek medical attention? Or is it possible that it could go away on its own? I'm traveling overseas, and seeing a doctor that speaks English is challenging depending on the city I find myself in.
Brief Answer:
There is no need for medical attention.
