Hi Around 3 Weeks Ago I Was Working In The

Around 3 weeks ago I was working in the evening behind my computer. At a certain moment I look away from my screen at which point I experienced a very strange experience as If I was not completely 'grounded' or stable. Perhaps it could be described as dizziness - although I could see quite clearly it felt a little more like the dizziness or unsteady feeling came from within me - and not as though my environment was spinning. It took several seconds for this strange and unsettling experience to stop - at which point I felt OK again.
This episode shook me up, I am a 43 year old male, otherwise in good health, who has not experienced such an experience before. I also suffer from anxiety and panic for the last 25 years however this has been very much under control the past 15 years.
As a result of this experience I feel my condition has deteriorated - the big question is - is it my mental condition or physical condition. I do not know.
I cannot pretend to have had the same experience again in the past 3 weeks but I do feel 'like I could' that I'm on limit of having another such episode - That I could get this strange dizziness again.. I fully appreciate this could by a spike in my anxiety which is causing this. I do not have headaches as such but feel ‘pressure’ sometime in what feels more like my sinus..
As a result I visited by local GP today. She listened patiently but suggested I have full blood tests. She also performed some brain tests which apparently were normal. She said she was sure I do not have a tumour and she felt it highly unlikely it was a TIA given the very short duration.
That all said I am tempted to pay for a MRi examination privately. It is costly and before I do I would like to seek a specialist advice - hence why I am contacting you.
Sometimes I have no symptoms at all. For example when I am walking or playing on the PlayStation with my kids. However I do have moments where I am acutely aware of not feeling well.. tired, weak, not entirely 'with it'
The past year has been extremely stressful. I have suffered a close unexpected family bereavement and my work has become very challenging and stressful.I am actutely aware that my symptoms could be pyschogenic in nature but would benefit a lot from a professional opinion.
Could I have had something like a XXXXXXX TIA? Something that mimics a TIA? Am i likely to suffer a full TIA or Stroke episode imminently? Could there be a mass inside my head which is slowly growing and making me feel this way? These are all quesitons which I am busy asking myself...
Thanks for your attention and eventual response.

TIA is unlikely in your case.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms and based on that, TIA is very unlikely. Tumor or other mass lesion in the brain is also unlikely as symptoms were transient and not significant. Moreover, the neurological examination by the physician was normal.
I would agree that stress and anxiety could be making you concerned about something serious.
Blood tests for cholesterol and sugar should be done. MRI is not needed, however, if you wish, it can be done to rule out any serious problem, and more importantly to reduce your anxiety.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,

Thanks for your reply.
Given duration of the orginal event which I still maintain was not pschogenic what would attribute that to?
Can stress in itself really stimulate such an event? This is what concerns me.

Probably a mild vestibular dysfunction.
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.
Transient episodes of dizziness with or without imbalance are most often due to vestibular dysfunction (related to inner ear) and they are self-limiting in nature in most cases. These episodes can get triggered with exhaustion, stress, less sleep, etc.
