I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

This is a normal report. Your testosterone and thyroid hormones are absolutely normal. There is no need for further tests.

Hi Ma'am,

Thanks for the immediate answer!

Would like to confirm a few more things, which are:
1-This is the free testosterone report, would there is any need to go for the total.

2-What is the difference between these two?

3-what is TESTOSTERONE PANEL, TOTAL & FREE?

4-Actually, I have been trying to build muscle and reduce my belly fat with a strict diet and under the guidance of the personal trainer, since last 3 month with weight training and the little bit of cardio. My height is 5ft 8inch and weight is 81 KG.

I used to train 2 years back but stopped it due to some professional commitment now I am fully decided to remain fit try to build muscle.

What are the medical tests more do I need to conduct to rule out any internal problems, in terms Hormone(Steroid, HGH, Testosterone, Thyroid, serum cortisol, Insulin sensitivity, level panel etc)?

Actually, my body is not responding to weight training, what I see is muscles are getting harder but not growing.

Hence, I am seeking medical intervention and your advice and tests.

Hope, You'll give good suggestions and help me out of this mess.

PS-I am sexually active and married.

Brief Answer:
Hard muscles are good

Detailed Answer:
Hi again

Actually what we see as grown muscles in weight lifters, such muscles in most cases are hypertrophied (swollen) muscles due to medicines like anabolic steroids etc. For example a balloon. Such muscles are not very strong and they tear easily and hurt while lifting weights. Moreover steroids make heart muscles to swell. Such a heart gets easily damaged. I have seen a few medical students die due to heart attacks, investigations revealed that they had used such medicines to achieve faster results.

There are many other medicines that sports people use to achieve faster results e.g testosterone, proteins, thyroid hormones, etc. E.g testosterone if administered externally will reduce the internal testosterone levels and sexual health will get affected eventually. Proteins can affect the kidneys. Each one of them have a capacity to ruin the person's normal hormonal balance.

Use of such medicines is banned by sports regulating authorities. The main reason is to protect the young boys' health while they are willing to risk anything to get the medal.

Muscles becoming hard in your case is truly an achievement that you can actually use in practical life also. If you work with patience and consistency, your muscle will gain size naturally.

That is my true medical advice as a health professional.

Since your report is normal and you look healthy, I would not order any more tests.

Brief Answer:
No need of total testosterone

Detailed Answer:
Hi

There isn't a need for total testosterone.

Total testosterone is equal to free testosterone plus bound testosterone. Free testosterone is the active hormone and responsible for the functions of male hormone. Bound hormone is bound to the proteins in the blood. The bound hormone is trapped inside the protein and is not available for functioning. There is an equilibrium between total, free and bound hormone. Whenever free hormone is low, some of the bound hormone dissociates and becomes free hormone.

So measuring the free hormone is enough.

The hormonal system inside our bodies has a balance. If we increase or decrease any hormone externally, it can trip the whole balance. Your male hormones are naturally normal. There is no need to increase its level. Simply exercise as per your capacity, feel good about yourself. That would be enough.
