Question: Hi Doc, I am suffering from TMJ issue, severe pain around jaw, ear, face, neck and head. Any medicine which is safe to take. I need a log term relief.

Hii. You can ellaborate your complaints because pain ear is a diverse complaint. Mention your age, whether you are diabetic or not, any ear discharge, difficulty in mouth opening. If it is TM joint problem then you should consult a dental surgeon and an ent surgeon to rule out malignant otitis externa or osteomyelitis. You can start some analgesic like paracetamol after prescribed by your surgeon. Give hot fomentation over the joint. Please review if you have any queries.

My age is 34 and there is no discharge through ear, difficulty in mouth opening isn't there but i cant chew or talk much else it pains. I visited a dentist and she confirmed that its TMJ issue and asked to have zerodol but now the course of medicine is over and it still hurts. Have headache, earche and neckache. There is no history of trauma. The clicking and popping started four years ago post my son was born. Since last month it was increased and now the pain is severe. I don't want to have medicine frequently as it is the only helping thing. Therefore I was looking for some other way of getting long term relief.
