Question: Hi Doc,
I have a history of UTI and have been troubled by this issue 3 times. Since last 2 days I am experiencing some pain in right scrotum again, looks like the UTI being repeated. I took Zifi Turbo in the past and don't remember my last prescription though. Please let me know some antibiotics I should take to avoid this issue to repeat, for now. There isn't any inflammation for now and the pain also not very severe. Considering what's happening around us, I have my reservations to go out and physically see a doctor. I saw some blood coming out with sperms as well a couple of days earlier and that's what scared me. The blood thing with sperms has happened last time also. But this time it was just for once. Please suggest. Thank you for helping me out and let me know if you have any questions for me.

Hi,
The diagnosis of UTI should be confirmed first.
In typical UTI, the pain will be in the lower abdomen, not in the scrotum.
Pain in the scrotum can be due to the Infection of the Testis or Epididymis. Pain from the lower abdomen on the right side will radiate to the scrotum in cases of Ureteric stone. As you are seeing blood along with sperms, you should be investigated. Blood can be seen in cases of Ureteric stone, UTI, etc
So, Ultrasound of the Abdomen and Scrotum should be done. Urine has to be sent for Culture and Sensitivity to know the appropriate Antibiotic. Urine should also be sent for Analysis.
Please do not use the Zifi turbo. I prescribe antibiotics like Nitrofurantoin 200mg to my patients with UTI. Norfloxacin is another Antibiotic which works well in UTI. I will also add Syrup containing DISODIUM HYDROGEN CITRATE to my patients. It has to be taken in a diluted form with water.
Please drink plenty of liquids.
Please consult a Urologist and proceed further.
Nothing to worry. It will come down.
