Question: Hi Doc, question on unprotected sex. I’m 41 years , weighing 77 kgs , height 5 ft 2. For unprotected sex once a month which pill can I use for birth control ? Pls suggest a name

Hi,

I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) Taking one pill per month like ipill is not recommended as this is not permanent mode of contraception for a long duration. This ipill is only for emergency and unplanned contraception.

2) Lady can use 21 days oral contraceptive pills like ovral L or femilon with your doctor's prescription.

3) Alternatively intrauterine contraceptive device ( IUD) like copper T can be used.
